THIN FILM SOLUTIONS FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE PV PROJECTS First Solar, LLC, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, manufactures photovoltaic (PV) modules with an advanced thin film semiconductor process that greatly reduces raw material and manufacturing costs compared to traditional crystalline silicone PV modules. Our Super site in the Kulim Hi-Tech Park is looking for qualified professionals to the following positions:
Manufacturing Engineering Technician (MET)
Responsibilities:
Basic Job Functions:
- Assist in the installation and qualification of systems, troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing issues, identify and/or implement system improvements that contribute to the achievement of throughput, yield and product performance goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Gauge setup and maintenance.
- Maintenance of process control plan.
- Responsible for data collection relating to daily tool performance and associated product performance.
- Provide training to production associates.
- Responsible for solving day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
- Maintain effective communication with production associates and manufacturing engineers.
- Execute planned process experiments, collect and analyze data and report experimental results.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
- Direct engineering activities on the line in absence of associate engineers and engineers.
- Lead in special activities and projects of the department – quality circle, social events, general improvement activities, etc.
- Manage inventory of parts.
- Develop and update internal documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures, and process specifications.
- Responsible for interfacing with internal associates and supplier representatives, as required to complete assigned projects.
- Supervise and coach METs AND/OR initiate and lead engineering projects and tests.
- Coordinate and drive projects and tasks on behalf of engineers.
- Work across cross functional groups in FS KLM to meet the objectives of the group.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Others) or equivalent.
- At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
